EINDHOVEN - Libéma Profcycling receives a subsidy of 270,000 euros from the municipality of Eindhoven for hosting the European BMX Freestyle Championships next year.
The BMX Freestyle competitions will take place at the Ketelhuisplein and in the skate hall Area51 (Part of Park). The Flatland segment at Ketelhuisplein is open to the public for free.
The organizers anticipate approximately 2,500 visitors on October 3, 4, and 5, 2025. Contributions from the province of Noord-Brabant and the Ministry of Sports are also supporting the European Championships.
Eindhoven has selected urban sports like BMX as a focal point. The acquisition of major sporting events aligns with the city's sports ambitions, as stated by Councilor Maes van Lanschot in a clarification to the city council.
For similar reasons, the Winterclash international inline skate tournament is also receiving a subsidy of 20,000 euros. Area51 will once again host the unofficial Inline Skating World Championship, with competitions scheduled for February 13, 14, and 15. Area51 expects participants from over fifty countries.
